Objects in Time

Objects in Time is a series of two paintings that aims to explore the theme of perception. Specifically, perception of objects through our memories and the emotional significance we assign them due to those memories. The images include small snapshots of a memory that is associated with each object, the memory fades out into the background as most memories fade. We are left with the emotions we felt at the time and the object, having something physical to remind us of this moment in time. This effect is done with semi-transparent washes of acrylic paint in the background, contrasting with the memory rendered with opaque medium. The perception of the objects depicted are through my own memories as either memories of a person and/or time.

Care Guide

Care Guide is my illustration thesis from my final year in the illustration program at OCAD U. This thesis aims to demonstrate how plant behaviours and care requirements mirror how humans care for each other and themselves. Through illustrations of characters based on each plant, we understand more about our own behaviours and needs.
